We're not architects, we're not historians and we don't know much about anything. However we do like modern houses and Christchurch is a great place for them.

59 Perth St. Unknown Architect.

Another submission, this time from Thomas who likes this house because it ‘addresses the street’. Rather than hiding behind a fence, it adds nicely to the streetscape. Two doors down is a more recent interpretation of the same idea by Stephen Fitzgerald.

    Hi there, the house at 59 Perth street was designed by Tony Stewart who has now passed away. He designed it for himself when working at Trengrove and Blunt and lived there before going onto doing a cube house in the country and an inner city apartment conversion of a warehouse. He did some great work.

    Yes Tony and I built this house he also designed it and other homes since this one we also owned number 49 Perth st our very first home did major renovations on this house yes we built together well I was very proud of him so sad god took him so soon
