92c Glandovy Rd. Beaven Hunt.
Peter doesn’t like to visit Fendalton, but made an exception in the 1960s to build this grand home on Glandovy Rd. It’s interesting to note Peter’s slightly more individual take – hexagonal chimney and asymmetrical roof lines – on the ‘big, white Fendalton house’ done so well by Warren and Mahoney.

5a Snowdon Rd. Forbes House. Warren & Mahoney.
Designed in 1976 for a wealthy builder, the Forbes House is arguably the grandest of Warren & Mahoney’s residential buildings of the time. The house is formidable: raw, exposed concrete beams dominate, yet it’s elegant and totally cool.

10 Coldstream Ct. Coldstream Lodge. Heathcote Helmore.
A little elderly and big for our tastes, but interesting nonetheless: hotelier Earl Hagman’s Coldstream Lodge was built in 1935, but remodeled in the international modernist style by Heathcote Helmore for the Ballantyne family in the 1940s.

210 Clyde Rd. R H Ballantyne House. Warren & Mahoney.
Heavily…er…influenced by Finn Juhl’s 1942 House, this beautiful home was clearly dear to Miles Warren who painted some beautiful perspective watercolours of the design. The fact the owners have lived in this home for 37 years says a lot.

32 Creyke Rd. Sherris House. G D Griffiths.
Not much known about this little ripper designed in 1960. G D Griffiths pops up a couple of times in archive references, but we don’t even know his first name. Let’s just say it’s Gary his name is George (thanks Peter Beaven).

8 Pentlow Pl. M E Mahoney House. Warren & Mahoney.
This is Maurice Mahoney’s house, designed in 1966, which he still occupies. The house sits in a Fendalton cul de sac and looks fantastic (despite the Toyota Echo in the drive, which we tried to push away, but the handbrake was on and the doors locked). The Mahoney house utlilises many of the Warren & Mahoney hallmarks: white painted concrete blocks, exposed structure and steeply-pitched gabled roofs

2 Makora St. Schneideman House. Warren & Mahoney.
Designed 1966, earlier photos suggest the garage has been subsequently widened to fit two (expensive) cars. Either way she’s a stunner, and in a similar style to her Fendalton buddies the M E Mahoney House and M B Warren House.
